ONE YEAR ACCIDENT-FREE AT UNIBOARD®’S UNIRES PLANT IN VAL-D’OR
Laval, Quebec – April 12, 2019 - Uniboard is proud to celebrate a year without any accidents at its Unires plant in Val-d’Or. The cumulative OSHA rate at that facility has been zero since February 2018.
"Our good health and safety practices include the maintenance of a clean, ergonomic and safe working environment,’’ says Sylvain Côté, Regional Manager. ‘’It is the effort of all employees that lead to beneficial results, both for our team and our organization,’’ he adds.
As a way to encourage employees in their initiatives to prevent work-related injuries, Uniboard committed to making a donation to a cause that is important to employees in their community. The Unires employees chose to have a $5,000 donation made to the parents of Charlie Hamelin-Sérandour. Charlie, age 2, originally from Val-d’Or, has been waiting since July for a new heart due to a severe congenital heart defect.
The donation was presented to the family on April 11, 2019, at the Ronald McDonald House in Montréal.
